In terms of structural design, this type of screw typically adopts a single-screw configuration:

Single-Screw Extruder Screw: Characterized by a simple structure, it is suitable for standard silicone cable production. The screw is generally divided into a feeding section, a compression section, and a homogenization section; through variations in screw channel depth or pitch, it facilitates the gradual compaction and plasticization of the material.

Regarding materials, these screws are predominantly manufactured using high-strength, corrosion-resistant, and wear-resistant alloy steels—such as 38CrMoAlA and 9Cr18—and undergo nitriding treatment to extend their service life. Some high-end products also feature chrome-plated surface treatments to enhance anti-stick properties and durability.

In practical applications, the screw must operate in conjunction with the barrel, die head, temperature control system, and other components to ensure that the silicone flows uniformly under high temperature and pressure, and is properly formed as it passes through the die. With a length-to-diameter ratio of 10:1, the screw features a design with variable pitch and variable depth; it boasts a compression ratio of 1:2.5, making it highly suitable for the extrusion of silicone rubber with a hardness ranging from 45 to 75 Shore A.
